Cupping & Gua Sha
Cupping
Cupping therapy is a noninvasive technique which involves a local suction on the skin via heat placed internally of a glass cup. This suction helps to relax the muscles, break up adhesions in the fascia, increase blood flow, and release toxins stored in the muscles. It is often recommended to patients suffering from muscular pain, joint pain, respiratory disorders, and skin disorders. If you have questions on whether this treatment is right for you, contact me.
Please note that patients can experience bruising and soreness following a cupping session. These responses are normal and part of the therapeutic process of cupping.

Gua Sha
Gua sha, is translated as "to scrape sand" (or in medical terms, petechiae). Petechiae are the small red dots or bruising which appear after scraping. These markings highlight areas of blood stagnation and blockage. Gua sha is highly effective in relaxing the muscles and breaking up tight fascia. Gua sha can help increase range of motion and reduce pain and tightness.
